If you are looking to have a new website created, then you will obviously need to know how much it would cost. You cannot simply ask a web agency how much a website will cost as this can vary drastically from a few hundred pounds upwards of tens of thousands of pounds. In order for them to give you a price they will need to know what it is you want your website to be able to do for example, is it going to be a shop selling thousands of products all with different options and delivery prices or is it a simple 4 page information site that is just going to contain images and text?
You may worry about going a head with a quote as you will not be able to know if you are being overcharged or not. There are a few ways you can try and establish if the price is right. Firstly check what exactly is included in the quote, you may find things on there that you don’t need. Try and get an idea of how long they think it will take to create the site as if they have quoted you £3000 but said it will be ready in a few days then the price seems way too high. If at all possible get at least one other quote so you have some way of comparing the price.
