The History of HTML

In 1989, Tim Berners-Lee invented the web, using HTML as its publishing language. HTML is actually a form of hypertext, allowing you to link to other databases’, and thereby receive information from other locations without including it in the root file. Hypertexts had been around for a number of years prior to the advent of HTML, but none of those could feasibly be used for a world wide web. HTML, unlike other computer languages is a pretty simple language. This was done so that a larger number of people could use it as a means of communication. Since then, new versions of it have been released, with increasing levels of complexity. This is a good thing, as with this increased complexity comes a increase in the capabilities of the script. The most recent type of HTML is HTML 5, which has capabilities which are very near equal to that of flash. This is a continuation of the plan first implemented with HTML. It was decided that HTML should start off as a very simple computer script, and potentially get increasingly complicated over time.
